How to Clean and Protect Your Cowboy Boots

No matter how hard you try to keep your cowboy boots fresh somehow they always seem to attract dirt. Here are a few ways to keep your boots clean and protect for any occasion.

First, purchase saddle soap to clean and polish your leather boots, if you have a boot with any kind of nap on it DO NOT USE saddle soap you will ruin your boots.

If you get dirt or mud on your boots, wait till the mud dries and brush it off using a soft bristled brush. Nothing firmer than the bristles of your tooth brush or else you will scratch the leather.

Any other stains, wipe up the stain and use a small dab of water on a cloth and wipe clean. Once the stain is cleaned with the water and cloth, dab some saddle soap on a chamois and wipe your boots down.

If your boots get completely soaked from the rain set them on a towel and stuff the insides with newspaper. The newspaper will soak up the water from the inside out. When your boots are dry, rub them with saddle soap or leather conditioner to keep the leather from drying out.
